111123 The Love Left Behind

I am beginning to understand that most people can't navigate loss well... thus the need for belief in an afterlife. It may mean that those who don't embrace the afterlife have the most courage of all humans. We have the courage to let go of ever seeing, knowing or experiencing our loved ones again. Being Post-Christian means I had to gain that courage later in life, because I held on to the idea of "this world's not my home" for a long time. Now I get to embrace the courage to let go of them forever. But in doing so, I am left with who they were to me and that much love they had for me... and that love is left behind. Sorry Patrick Swayze... (Ghost reference) ... you don't take the love with you... you leave it behind for those who still need it.
